It’s time to celebrate once again for Snap-on! Franchisee, Craig Bishop, was crowned Young Franchisee of the Year at the bfa HSBC Franchise Awards 2019. Out of hundreds of entries from across the UK, 32-year-old, Craig, who runs his successful Snap-on franchise across North Dorset, was named as one of the best in the industry.
“Winning Young Male franchisee of the year is very surreal, and I’m honoured to have won. I know that the competition was tough due to the overwhelming number of entries so to even be nominated was a massive honour. Thank you to everyone who has supported me on my franchise journey. I look forward to carry on living my dream of running my own business,” said Craig.
Having launched his franchise in 2017, at just 30 years old, Craig quickly took his franchise to great heights by working hard, remaining focused and offering the best customer service possible to his loyal customers. His franchise is now ranked seventh in the country and Craig is one of only 11 franchisees with average sales exceeding £10,000 per week. Perhaps even more impressively, entrepreneur Craig came with little experience of either the tool trade or running a business. But he didn’t let that stop him!
“I have a real drive and determination to do well in life and have always put 100% into everything I do,” explained Craig. “It didn’t ever really matter that I didn’t know a lot about the tool range – I continue to use the training I was given and follow the system and, most importantly, I work hard to fulfil my customer’s needs. This approach has got me far, but my success hasn’t been without hard work. I’m very proud to have been recognised – winning this award is a real highlight of my career and I’m proud to celebrate with the Snap-on team.”
The bfa Franchisee of the Year awards are the highest accolade that any franchisee business owner can achieve. Craig was awarded by a panel of specialist judges, who have considered hundreds of entries from businesses spanning all industries and sectors.
Winners were announced during a prestigious black-tie awards ceremony at The Vox, in Birmingham, on Thursday 27th June. Craig attended the event with girlfriend, Amy – who supports him in the running of the business – and the Snap-on franchise team.
Pip Wilkins, CEO of the bfa – who presented Craig with his award on the evening – said: “Young franchisees are the lifeblood of the industry. Craig showed exceptional business acumen and has clearly defined goals for his business, and he is hungry for more. I congratulate him for his win.”
Andy Brattesani, UK Head of Franchising at HSBC, says: “Craig is a determined individual with a vision, and it is pleasing the industry is allowing more young individuals like Craig to enter the world of franchising and achieve their dreams.”
