As automotive technology advances, the demand for diagnostic tools have increased dramatically. To help franchisees capitalise on this upward trend, Snap-on Tools have invested over £670k in a specialist programme, completely focussed on tapping into this booming market.
At our National Franchise Conference in January 2018, we unveiled seven brand new Diagnostic Trucks – that’s one per region – and a team of specialist support staff known as Diagnostic Sales Representatives (DSR). Fitted out with state-of-the-art equipment, the trucks offer a fully interactive diagnostic experience for customers.
Lisa Law, Snap-on’s National Franchise Manager, explains the driving force behind the innovative new marketing programme for franchisees:
“Diagnostic equipment continues to receive more enquiries than any other product group and our franchisees have been really vocal about how much they appreciate our support in this area. In short, our network spoke, and we listened! Our top of the range, fully equipped diagnostic trucks are just one of the many contributors to the updated diagnostic programme and provide a great way for franchisees to engage with their customers.”
This revolutionary programme is available to all of Snap-on’s 437 franchisees in the UK and Ireland with each of the seven trucks visiting 92 franchisees per year!
Every week, a purpose-built diagnostics truck – along with a fully trained DSR – will spend two days with a different franchisee, visiting customers. Crucially the trucks don’t carry or sell their own products… they sell only what the franchisee has on their van or in stock already. Franchisees can ride with the DSR to learn sales techniques, choose to shadow them part-time or even run their own vans simultaneously for double sales/extra calls. In order to maximise on those all-important sales, franchisees are issued with a comprehensive marketing pack, one month before the diagnostic truck even arrives to drum up excitement amongst customers!
Perhaps most impressive of all, is that all of this comes at no extra cost to franchisees.
